In preparation for the 25th General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization on October 19 in Samarkand, an international educational partnership has emerged. The "Spanish-Uzbek Language" Center, established through cooperation between the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages and Spain's University of Cadiz, is a significant development tied to an agreement fostering collaboration in the field of tourism.
The center, aligned with the upcoming International Forum, "Global Forum on Education: the Foundation of Building Tourism," is poised to offer several opportunities:
1. Master's Degree Programs: The Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages and the University of Cadiz will introduce master's degree programs at the "Spanish-Uzbek Language" Center, focusing on tourism education.
2. Cross-Cultural Exchange: Spanish students will learn the Uzbek language and culture, while Uzbek students will gain insights into Spanish culture, promoting intercultural competence.
3. Educational Materials: The University of Cadiz will supply educational literature and textbooks to support students studying Spanish.
This partnership builds upon a longstanding relationship between the institutions, featuring previous student and teacher mobility projects supported by Erasmus+ grants.
The center's establishment and the expanded cooperation in tourism reflect the commitment of both institutions to advancing educational and cultural ties. It highlights the significance of international collaboration in fostering educational and cultural exchange, ultimately shaping the future of tourism education and cross-cultural understanding.
