As per the report presented by Kazakhstan's Minister of Internal Affairs, Erzhan Sadenov, the public safety situation in the republic has seen significant improvement. The minister has reported a noticeable decline in various crimes, including murder, hooliganism, theft, robbery, and cattle rustling.
Additionally, Sadenov has emphasized the measures taken by the authorities to safeguard the rights of minors and prevent online fraud. Authorities blocked over 37mn calls from fake numbers and discovered about 16,000 websites with illegal content this year alone. The police have also seized over 31 tons of drugs and 79 tons of precursors, dismantling 39 drug laboratories.
There has been a decrease in the number of crimes against persons and property types, accompanied by an improvement in the detection rate. Offenses, especially those against minors, are met with a zero-tolerance policy.
The President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was briefed on various measures to prevent multiple crimes. These measures have resulted in a significant reduction in murders, hooliganism, theft, robbery, and cattle rustling all across the country. Additionally, there has been an increase in street safety. The President was updated on the efforts being made to ensure that offenders are brought to justice and protect minors' rights. Measures are being taken to counteract online fraud. The President was also informed about the comprehensive plan to combat drug addiction and drug trafficking from 2023 to 2025.
