President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a significant visit to the newly inaugurated Sana Schoolchildren’s Palace in the Kazakh capital. This state-of-the-art educational facility, located on the left bank of Astana, is poised to become a hub for nurturing the talents and creativity of the country's young minds.
Constructed under the auspices of the Damu Development Group, founded by Abzal Sagymbaev, the Sana Center has ambitious plans to establish multiple development centers, along with social and medical facilities, in its quest to provide holistic education and growth opportunities for Kazakhstan's youth.
The Sana Schoolchildren’s Palace, a striking five-floor building spanning an impressive 7,500 square meters, boasts an array of educational and recreational facilities aimed at children aged 5 to 17. With over 60 specialized sections, young learners can explore their interests in areas such as technical creativity, arts and crafts, social sciences, music and choreography, and sports.
One of the highlights of this modern educational institution is its capacity to accommodate up to 700 children at any given time. Beyond traditional classrooms, the palace is equipped with cutting-edge technology to facilitate courses in Lego building, robotics, and 3D modeling. The facility also offers classes in pottery, percussion, and dombyra, as well as features like a swimming pool, event hall, and photo and podcast studios to foster a well-rounded educational experience.
During his visit, President Tokayev underscored the importance of such educational centers in nurturing the potential of Kazakhstan's youth. He expressed a strong desire to see similar institutions established in cities and districts across the nation. This vision aligns with his commitment to providing children and the younger generation with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive and succeed in the modern world.
Astana Akim (Mayor) Zhenis Kassymbek pledged to take swift action. He announced plans to construct 15 similar schoolchildren's palaces in the city by 2029, with five of these educational centers set to commence construction in the near future. This commitment reflects the local government's dedication to supporting the educational aspirations of Astana's youth.
