The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan has introduced temporary state regulation on bread and bakery products within the country to prevent price hikes and maintain their affordability.
According to Kaktus.media, this decision aims to ensure the stable pricing of these essential products and is set to be in effect for 90 days. Prices will be determined in the coming days, with all types of bread, including "tandir" bread and molded bread made from first-grade flour, being subject to this regulation.
The government is taking strict measures to enforce compliance, including issuing warnings and fines for violators. Earlier, Daryo reported that Kyrgyzstan banned the export of flour, wheat, and meslin for six months in September to safeguard food security due to rising prices of imported flour from Kazakhstan, which accounted for up to 50% of the local market.
