On September 29, Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during the first "Central Asia-Germany" summit in Berlin. The presidential press service has reported.
The comprehensive talks highlighted various aspects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany, with a focus on further enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, economy, investment, transportation, energy, and more.
The official visit of Uzbekistan's leader to Berlin in May of this year was underscored as a significant step towards advancing bilateral ties. Trade and industrial cooperation indicators have doubled in recent years, with prominent German companies like "Volkswagen," "MAN," "CLAAS," "Siemens," "Linde," "Aurubis," "Henkel," "Knauf," "Papenburg," "Deutsche Kabel," and many others enjoying successful operations in the country.
New project portfolios have been formed in various sectors, including agriculture, energy, chemistry, electronics, textile industry, and infrastructure. The State leader emphasized the importance of consistently implementing additional economic initiatives, developing renewable energy sources, optimizing agriculture and water resource management, revitalizing the construction industry, expanding financial instruments, strengthening bilateral relations, collaborating on migration and mobility, and fostering cultural and humanitarian exchange. The evolving situation in Afghanistan was also discussed with a view to regional stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended an official invitation to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to visit Uzbekistan.
