21st Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions: accreditation now open

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry's press service has announced that the accreditation process for international media covering the 21st meeting of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is now open. This highly anticipated event is scheduled to take place on October 11, 2023, at the iconic Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The 21st meeting of the Secretariat holds significant importance as it will offer an opportunity to reflect on the outcomes of the eighth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and deliberate on the Concept for the Development of the Congress for the decade ahead, from 2023 to 2033.

This gathering will bring together eminent religious leaders representing various faiths from around the world, including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, and Shintoism. Delegates from countries such as Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and many others will be participating in this global event.

The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions has established itself as a prominent platform for promoting interfaith dialogue, fostering tolerance, and seeking solutions to the pressing challenges facing humanity. The Congress of Leaders assembles every three years in Astana, a venerable institution inaugurated nearly two decades ago under the visionary leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbaev from the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since its inception in 2003, it has played a pivotal role in advancing discussions on issues of global concern, including peace, harmony, and coexistence.

During the upcoming 21st Secretariat meeting, participants are expected to engage in meaningful conversations aimed at strengthening the bonds of understanding and cooperation among different religious communities. It is anticipated that the outcomes of these discussions will contribute to the promotion of peace and mutual respect on a global scale.

To ensure comprehensive media coverage of this momentous event, international journalists and media organizations are invited to apply for accreditation. The accreditation process will remain open until September 29, 2023. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their applications promptly to secure their place at this unique gathering of spiritual leaders and dignitaries from across the world.

The 21st Secretariat meeting of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions promises to be a significant milestone in the ongoing quest for religious harmony and peaceful coexistence in a diverse and interconnected world.
