The government of Uzbekistan plans to auction the properties at 41 and 42 Buyuk Turon Street in Tashkent. These buildings currently house the "Shark" publishing company and the Uzbekistan National Information Agency (UzA). They're selling these properties as a package because they're old, need repairs, and most of them can't be used anymore. "Shark" is relocating to new premises on Katta Khirmontepa Street in the Uchtepa district.
The UzA building is a 16-story administrative building and will move to the "House of Printing" on Matbuotchilar Street. All of these buildings, including the UzA building, are considered part of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.
The total land area where these buildings are situated, built between 1975 and 1979, is 3.02 hectares, with the buildings and structures covering 56,500 square meters. The goal is to transform this area into a modern urban property complex.
Proposals are accepted until October 20 through the E-auksion online platform. Privatization will depend on presenting the best project concept that meets modern urban development standards.
