British comedian and actor Russell Brand faces accusations of rape, sexual assault, and abuse dating back to 2006-2013, during the peak of his fame, according to a joint investigation by three British news organizations: The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches. Four women, who were acquainted with Brand, have made allegations of sexual assault against him, including one woman who accused him of rape. These incidents reportedly occurred while Brand was working for BBC Radio 2, Channel 4, and featuring in Hollywood films, Al Jazeera reported.
The Times reported that one of the women alleged rape, while another claimed Brand assaulted her when she was only 16 and still in school. Two of the accusers stated that the incidents occurred in Los Angeles.
Channel 4 Dispatches was scheduled to air further details of the allegations, and they also shared clips of the women describing the alleged incidents on social media, specifically on Twitter.
In response to the allegations, Russell Brand, 48, firmly denied them and emphasized that all his relationships during that period were consensual. He acknowledged his promiscuity during that time and asserted that he had always been transparent about his relationships. He described the accusations as a "coordinated attack."
