In August, MOB Group acquired a significant residential property with 51 rooms in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which had previously been listed on the E-auksion platform, Gazeta.uz has reported.
The auction on August 14 involved two companies. MOB Group placed the sole bid at UZS 33.27 bn ($2,7 mn), which was 2% higher than the starting price. This makes it the most expensive residential property ever sold in an online auction.
The complex, built in 2017, includes 51 rooms, gardens, saunas, pools, multiple bathrooms, kitchens, gazebos and artworks.
The property was put up for sale based on an executive order from the Military Court dated April 15, 2021, and a decision by the Inspector of the Bureau of Forced Execution dated December 20, 2021.
As for inquiries regarding the old owner of the property and why it was listed for sale more than a year later, BP Investment (BPI) has not yet responded to request of Gazeta.uz.
MOB Group, registered in March 2016, primarily operates in the restaurant business and food delivery services. Notably, they own the premium-class restaurant Mona.
The founders of MOB Group are Zilola Boboyorova (20.6%) and Odilbek Mannanov (79.4%). The latter also holds stakes in companies such as British Education Company (in the education sector), Smartblax IT Group (computer programming), and Iron Fort Property (leasing and management of non-residential properties).
