Meat prices in Kazakhstan have gone up, as reported by Energyprom. According to analysts' report for July 2023, meat prices, including meat products, increased by 0.3% in a month and 11.2% in a year.
Analysts note that the most significant price hike over the year was felt by residents of the capital city (+16.3%) and the Almaty (+15.5%) and North Kazakhstan (+15.2%) regions. In contrast, residents of the Turkistan region experienced the smallest increase (+5.7%).
Breaking down meat types, beef saw an 11.5% increase, lamb went up by 7.1%, pork increased by 11.9%, horse meat rose by 9.1%, boiled sausage prices climbed by 14.5%, and semi-smoked sausage prices increased by 12.7%.
The average meat prices across Kazakhstan were as follows: beef at KZT 2,600 ($5.6) per kilogram, lamb at KZT 2,800 ($6), pork at KZT 2,200 ($4.7), horse meat at KZT 3000 ($6.4), boiled sausage at KZT 2,800 ($6), and semi-smoked sausage at KZT 3,300 ($7.1).
