Uzbekistan has broken a five-year record by purchasing a significant amount of flour from neighboring Kazakhstan, media reports.
In the first seven months of 2023, Uzbekistan bought 308,400 tons of flour from Kazakhstan, the highest amount in five years.
Last month, Kazakhstan delivered 49,740 tons of wheat flour to Uzbekistan, a 36% increase from June.
From January to July 2022, Kazakhstan delivered 215,300 tons of flour to Uzbekistan (including 26,290 tons in July of last year).
Despite this, Uzbekistan remains the second largest buyer of Kazakhstan's wheat flour, with Afghanistan taking the first place.
