The Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment, Behzod Musaev, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan, Yu Xiun, Republic of Uzbekistan government portal reported on August 17. This meeting highlighted the evolving cooperation between the two nations. It was acknowledged that the recent years have witnessed a shift towards a new stage in their collaboration.
The Chinese ambassador praised the ongoing reforms aimed at reducing poverty in Uzbekistan, particularly under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The commitment to elevating poverty reduction to the level of state policy was recognized and warmly welcomed by the Chinese side.
A significant initiative discussed during the negotiations involves the training of 9,400 assistant governors from various neighborhoods across Uzbekistan. These individuals are set to receive online training from Chinese experts over a span of two weeks, focusing on "Poverty Reduction based on Chinese Experience". Additionally, as a testament to the strong bilateral ties, 200 assistant governors will embark on an experience-sharing journey to China.
Drawing from the Chinese experience, vocational training programs will be introduced to enhance the marketing and customer communication skills of the Uzbek population. The collaboration extends further to training courses on crucial areas such as energy-saving technologies, technical maintenance of electric vehicles, and the conservation of renewable energy sources.
In response, Minister Behzod Musaev expressed his gratitude to the Chinese side for their close cooperation in the ongoing efforts to reduce poverty in Uzbekistan. This meeting signifies the commitment of both nations to address socioeconomic challenges through knowledge exchange, skills development, and meaningful collaborations.
