The exclusive vehicle belonging to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the inaugural President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been listed for sale at a reduced price of 220 mn tenge (approximately $493,000). Originally priced at 222 mn tenge (about $500,000), the 1993 Mercedes 600 SEL (Sonderschutz) GUARD B7, custom-made in Germany, boasts remarkable security features, as reported by Nur.kz.
Despite not possessing reinforced armoured capsules, the vehicle is designed to withstand an assault rifle and sniper fire, offering protection equivalent to a 4-kilogram TNT explosion. The car also incorporates a fire extinguishing system. The announcement highlights the cabin's noise-free environment and the car's ability to evade pursuit even if its tires are shot.
Notably, a similar Mercedes S600 Guard model previously saved the life of former Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze, withstanding a violent attack involving grenades and heavy machine gun fire while leaving the politician unharmed.
The sales advertisement draws parallels with the same vehicle owned by Russian President Vladimir Putin, which reportedly fetched a significant price of €1.3 mn.
