A significant development has unfolded in Namangan, Uzbekistan, as Alibaba Corporation, the world's largest e-commerce powerhouse, has announced the establishment of a regional centre in the region. The event was marked by a visit from a delegation led by Chris Zhou, Vice President of Alibaba Corporation, who met with the governor of Namangan.
During the meeting, the governor highlighted the mutual benefits of this cooperation and assured the delegation of the local authorities' unwavering support. Namangan's strategic geographical location, serving as a crossroads for seven regions spanning three republics and accommodating a population of 12 mn people, was emphasised. The governor, Shavkatjon Abdurazzokov, underscored the presence of skilled professionals and modern expertise within the region. He specifically mentioned the suitability of the IT-Park as a conducive space for the project's implementation.
Chris Zhou, Vice President of Alibaba Corporation, expressed the significance of their presence in Namangan and conveyed the corporation's vision for the region. Zhou stated that Namangan would serve as a pivotal regional hub for the export of various products, including textiles, industrial goods, IT services, and agricultural products.
Following the discussions, the governor conducted a tour of the proposed IT-Park Namangan branch, which is envisaged as the heart of the regional centre. This introduction provided the Alibaba delegation with insights into the facilities and infrastructure that would support the corporation's operations.
