In a remarkable display of care and dedication to her fans' safety, Beyoncé demonstrated her commitment by ensuring their well-being following a weather-induced delay at her August 6 concert at Washington, D.C.'s FedEx Field. Amid heavy rain and lightning, attendees were compelled to seek shelter, prompting the Grammy award-winning artist to step in, Variety reported on August 7. With her "Renaissance" album tour ongoing since May, Beyoncé went the extra mile by investing $100,000 to extend train station operations for an hour after her show commenced late due to the stormy conditions.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority acknowledged Beyoncé's contribution and stated, "The additional hour will be funded by the Tour to cover the $100,000 cost to run more trains, keep all 98 stations open for customers to exit, and other operational expenses." Despite the weather-related setbacks, Beyoncé took the stage later in the evening, marking the second of two performances at FedEx Field. The concert series, which has spanned months, will culminate on September 27 with its final stop at New Orleans' Caesars Superdome.
