Kazakhstan has extended the restrictions on exporting certain types of oil products and diesel fuel by road from the country for another six months. As per the media reports, this decision was announced by the country's Ministry of Energy, along with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Security Committee.
The prohibition of fuel export does not apply to particular circumstances, such as when the fuel is contained in gas tanks provided by the vehicle manufacturer, when aviation fuel is needed for research and testing purposes, when it is necessary for industrial production and has been approved by the authorized body in the field of petroleum production, and when a contract exists with an organization authorized to carry out the required work.
To qualify for these exceptions, a letter must be provided indineededhe number of samples and volumes of aviation fuel required for the specific purpose.
The initial ban, which took effect on November 21, 2021, was intended to ensure the stability and sustainability of Kazakhstan's economy. It prevented the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and certain types of oil products from the country by road transport. The extension of the ban for another six months aims to prevent a shortage of oil products in the domestic market.
