In Tashkent, Uzbekistan a schoolboy fell from the fifth floor while attempting to escape from illegally taught Islamic classes conducted by a native of Kashkadarya region with the use of violence. The boy got entangled in an extension cord and fell down, Hudud program on MY5 channel has reported.
The injured boy was taken to the hospital with fractures and dislocations. A doctor from the emergency services reported the incident to the law enforcement authorities.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the man (born in 1995), without any religious education, was teaching religion to the boys in a rented apartment, charging each of them $17,21. Additionally, he regularly physically abused the children, leaving visible marks of beatings on their bodies. The children's relatives claimed they were unaware of the violence.
The man was found guilty under Article 241 (violation of the procedure for teaching religious beliefs) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Uzbekistan and sentenced to 15 days of arrest.
The parents of the children are also held accountable under Article 47 (failure to fulfill duties of child upbringing and education).
Forensic medical examinations have been appointed to assess the severity of the injuries inflicted on the children.
