On July 30 BBC reported that Kanye West's Twitter account has been reinstated after an almost eight-month ban due to offensive tweets, including posts that violated the platform's rules against incitement to violence and contained anti-Semitic messages. The US rapper, also known as Ye, had not posted anything new since his return to the site, and his account now shows his last post from 1 December 2022.
The suspension from Twitter followed a similar ban on his Twitter and Instagram accounts after posting anti-Semitic messages in October. As a consequence of his actions on social media, clothing giant Adidas also cut ties with the rapper, citing a zero-tolerance policy towards hate speech.
The platform's owner, Elon Musk, who recently rebranded Twitter to "X," has not publicly commented on Ye's account reinstatement. Previously, Musk had reinstated former US President Donald Trump's account after a poll, but Trump expressed no interest in returning to the platform.
