Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a particularly dangerous focal infectious disease caused by an arbovirus, accompanied by fever, hemorrhagic symptoms, and transmitted naturally through a transmissive pathway. The mortality rate ranges from 10 to 40 %.
The dangerous virus enters the human body through the bite of an infected tick or contact with an infected animal, as well as through an open wound on a person. The first cases of the disease were registered in Greece in 2008, in Spain in 2016, in Georgia in 2009, and in India in 2011.
Tips for Disease Prevention:
1. Avoid tick contact: The disease is transmitted through the bites of infected ticks. Take precautions in areas where ticks are common.
2. Check clothing after outdoor activities: If you find a tick on your clothing, promptly remove it with special tweezers or tools.
3. Avoid contact with infected animals and their blood: The virus can be transmitted through contact with animal tissues, so avoid contact with sick animals.
4. Practice good hygiene: Regularly wash your hands with soap, as it is a crucial step in preventing the spread of the infection.
5. Watch for symptoms: If symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, and bleeding occur, seek medical attention immediately. Early detection and treatment significantly increase the chances of recovery.
