A dispute has erupted between residents of border regions in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan at a section of their shared border. In response to the incident, Tajikistan's Border Troops, under the State Committee for National Security, took action.
The Tajik side's account claims that the conflict occurred around 5:30 p.m. (GMT +5) when a convoy of 8 cars belonging to Vorukh villagers was en route to the city of Isfara for a wedding. As they approached Ok-Sai village, a Kyrgyz citizen driving a Mercedes-Benz blocked their path, citing obstruction caused by one of the Tajik cars.
Allegedly, the Kyrgyz citizen was drunk and, together with a fellow compatriot, started throwing stones at the Tajik vehicles. Three cars belonging to Tajik citizens were damaged, and four individuals sustained minor injuries. Local authorities and law enforcement officials from both Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan arrived at the scene and conducted negotiations, eventually resolving the conflict.
Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz side had previously reported that Tajik citizens attempted to obstruct the path of Kyrgyz citizens in their vehicles, leading to a heated argument. Additionally, a Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs employee was reportedly assaulted during the incident.
