Amanmukhammet Sazakov has been appointed chairman of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
The former head of this agency Batyr Volsakhatov became the head of the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan.
The corresponding decree was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan.
The Migration Service performs the functions of registration of entry and exit, prepares documents on admission to Turkmen citizenship, restoration of Turkmen citizenship and withdrawal of Turkmen citizenship.
Since 2005, 29,697 stateless persons have acquired Turkmen citizenship.
