The war in Iraq concluded without any registered violations or charges, making it impossible for a international process to be conducted against former President George W. Bush. John Kerry, the former Secretary of State under Barack Obama (2013-2017), and currently the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, stated in an interview with the French television channel LCI.
The journalist reminded Kerry that the West insists on filing a lawsuit against Russian President Vladimir Putin for military actions in Ukraine, and asked if Kerry supports a similar lawsuit against Bush regarding the events in Iraq.
"No. Because there was no process of directly accusing President Bush. If there were violations committed during the war, then yes," Kerry responded, recalling that he himself was against the US invasion of Iraq.
Arrest Warrant for Putin
On March 17, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is suspected of unlawfully deporting children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia. A similar warrant was issued for children's ombudsman Maria Lvovaya-Belova.
