Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian President, stated in an interview with RT Arabic TV channel that a significant portion of the demilitarization task in Ukraine has been accomplished.
"When the special military operation commenced, Ukraine had a substantial military presence. As President Putin mentioned yesterday, one of our objectives was the demilitarization of Ukraine. Overall, a considerable part of this task has been fulfilled," Peskov remarked.
He further clarified that Ukraine now relies less on its own weaponry and increasingly depends on weapon systems supplied by Western nations.
Peskov also highlighted that Western countries are increasingly involving themselves in the conflict, thereby becoming active participants in the war. "This prolongs the conflict and creates a more tense and unpredictable situation in Europe. It will compel Russia to take stricter measures to ensure security," emphasized the Kremlin representative.
In May 2023, Dmitry Peskov expressed that Russia had achieved partial success in its objectives through the initiation of a "special military operation" during the year-long conflict.
