During his address to members of the Republican Party in North Carolina, former US President, Donald Trump, confidently proclaimed that he would emerge victorious in the 2024 US presidential election, pledging to remove what he described as a corrupt President Joe Biden from the White House.
Trump declared, "On November 5, 2024, we will stand up against the corrupt political establishment. We will boot out Joe Biden, a President steeped in corruption, from the White House." He expressed unwavering determination, vowing to never give up and never accept defeat.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 2024, with the Republican Party expected to field 14 candidates. Notable contenders include Donald Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, and radio host Larry Elder. However, Donald Trump remains the frontrunner in the Republican Party's primary race.
In April, Donald Trump was indicted on 34 charges of first-degree falsifying business records. The prosecution alleged that these falsifications were aimed at concealing information that could have impacted his 2016 election. The trial for these charges is set to commence in 2024.
On June 9, Donald Trump faced an additional 37 charges, including illegal possession of classified documents and conspiracy to obstruct justice. If convicted, he could face a ten-year prison sentence.
