As per the latest reports, Uzbekistan has encountered 135 cases of illegal electricity use, amounting to UZS 20.6bn over May. This is in contrast to the preceding month when 225 such cases resulted in UZS 5.5bn.
The Ministry of Energy, working in conjunction with law enforcement agencies, was instrumental in identifying these cases, with the maximum number of cases being reported from the Samarkand, Jizzakh, and Bukhara regions.
In particular, one farm in the Samarkand region recalculated its electricity consumption by UZS 1.7bn, while a research and testing station in the Jizzakh region did so by UZS 442.9 mn, and an enterprise in the Bukhara region recalculated by UZS 324mn.
