Uzbekistan's renowned poetess Oydin Hojiyeva died on May 14 at 81, the country's Union of Writers has reported.
Oydin Hojiyeva was a prolific writer, having authored over 20 poetry collections. Her anthologies were widely recognized for their profound emotional depth and ability to capture women's experiences in love. Hojiyeva's works have been translated into multiple languages, including English, French, Russian, Ukrainian, and Tajik.
Oydin Hojiyeva also worked as an editor and translator, having translated works from various literary figures worldwide.
She was awarded numerous honors and awards throughout her lifetime, including the "People's Poet of Uzbekistan" title in 1992.
