Large farms in Türkiye’s Nigde province are planning to legally recruit workers from Uzbekistan to fill labor shortages in the agricultural sector, according to Dunyo news agency.

The announcement follows a working visit by diplomats from Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Türkiye and representatives of the Uzbek Migration Agency to the Nigde region. During the visit, the delegation met with Bilgehan Güny, Chairman of the Niğde Province Livestock Breeders Association.
Güny noted that the association, which unites over 14,000 livestock breeders, currently faces a shortage of qualified labor. He expressed readiness to facilitate the recruitment of Uzbek citizens to meet this demand.
During the meeting, Uzbek officials outlined national programs aimed at ensuring safe and organized labor migration. These include initiatives to regulate migration flows, support Uzbek citizens working abroad, and assist their family members.
Both sides agreed to continue discussions on establishing a legal framework for recruiting Uzbek workers and to further assess the labor needs of the Nigde region.
The Uzbek delegation also toured Tuğrul, a local breeding and dairy enterprise. They reviewed living and working conditions and held talks with the company’s management on the potential for organized labor migration from Uzbekistan.
Tuğrul representatives confirmed they would offer workers competitive wages, three meals a day, and dormitory accommodation. The company also committed to handling visa procedures, work permits, and other necessary documentation for incoming Uzbek employees.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbek doctors are being recruited for high-paying positions in Slovenia, with monthly salaries reaching €2,500.
