Napoli won the national championship in the 33rd round of the Italian Serie A football league after drawing with Udinese.
However, the celebration of the victory led to hundreds of injuries. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that 203 people were hospitalized due to various injuries sustained during the celebration. Four people were shot, and one of them later died in the hospital.
Other injuries include knife wounds, burns from fireworks, broken limbs and noses, eye injuries from fireworks and firecrackers, bruises from falls, and asthmatic conditions. One person was hospitalized due to an overdose of cocaine.
Officials emphasize that this was not the time to celebrate the championship. It is also worth noting that Napoli won the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.
