Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on May 1, extended his congratulations to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the successful Constitutional referendum on April 30. In turn, President Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude and congratulated President Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan on their state holiday, the Day of People's Unity.
The phone conversation primarily revolved around the implementation of resolutions and collaborative programs in priority sectors, along with the joint ventures that the two countries governments have been mandated to expedite during the upcoming intergovernmental commission meeting scheduled for this week in Tashkent.
The presidents also discussed the schedule of the upcoming events, the statement reads.
