    President Shavkat Mirziyoyev receives Defense Minister of Italy Guido Crosetto

    Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on April 26, received Italy’s Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto to discuss further aspects of enhancing multifaceted relations. In his speech, Guido Crosetto conveyed the greetings of Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

    Uzbekistan’s President and Italian Minister of Defense noted that the volume of mutual trade and investment has doubled over the past few years. In addition, branches of leading Italian universities operate in Uzbekistan.

    The two countries lay the groundwork for the upcoming events at the highest level.

    The sides drew particular attention to collaboration in energy, including renewable energy, logistics, agriculture, and other fields.

    President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the value of establishing partnerships between the defense agencies of the two countries.

    The parties exchanged views on aspects to ensure regional stability and security, including the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
