Chief of the Main Directorate of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Energy Atkhamjon Ubaidullayev on April 25 said that the Central Asian country is constantly collaborating with Russian companies in the gas and oil sector, including Gazprom, Lukoil, and Tatneft, media reports.
In particular, an agreement with Gazprom Neft envisages the supply of 300,000 tons of oil in 2023.
Work is underway with Tatneft, which has three filling stations in Uzbekistan; negotiations are underway to expand its activities in the republic.
The spokesman also said that over 30% of oil and gas companies in Uzbekistan were launched with the participation of the Russian capital.
"To date, the largest investor in the republic's oil and gas sector is the Lukoil company, which has already invested over US$10bn in two projects implemented based on a production sharing agreement,"
he noted.
