In 2023, it is planned to buy 100 pieces of 10.5-meter-long electric buses in Samarkand. The press service of the Samarkand regional administration reports.
A $95 million project is being implemented between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Samarkand Regional Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to build a fleet of 350 e-public buses within the Green Cities Program.
At the moment, it is planned to purchase the first buy 100 pieces of 10.5-meter-long electric buses.
It is noted that the Chinese company Yutong Bus Co. Ltd. won the international tenders for the purchase of 100 electric buses.
On January 30, the Chinese company signed a 29.7mn-euro contract with the state public organization "Samarkand Passenger Trans" as the operator of the project.
6 of these electric buses will be delivered to Samarkand in the first half of 2023, and the remaining 94 by the end of the third quarter.
