President Mirziyoyev visited the "Kamola Kamolbek Quyun" farm in Jarkurgan district of Surkhandarya region. The presidential press service reports.
The local farmer has planned to grow 70 quintals of grain and 40 quintals of cotton on his 45 hectares of land in 2023 employing 35 people.
The head of state was interested in the variety and productivity of grain and cotton.
"Why do we want science and innovation in agriculture? It is for quality and productivity. A farmer who wants to have a high income should try to increase productivity with knowledge," Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
The farmer also runs 20-25 hectares of land employing 34 local residents registered as the ‘layer with low income’ who grow greens, potatoes, onions, carrots and other crops.
The president talked to 18 farmers who planned to use effectively 30 hectares of land by hiring the vulnerable.
