The Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment Behzod Musayev noted that 2,200,000 people got jobs owing to the khokim assistants at the international conference on "Promotion of decent work for the purpose of strengthening social justice in Uzbekistan". And yet, there are still 1.3 million unemployed.
"A completely new system for reducing poverty and ensuring employment - the Institute of Khokims’ Assistants have been providing services for the development of entrepreneurship. About 2.2 million people are job owners due to the subsidies, job provision, involvement in professional training and business management skills of the assistants," Behzod Musayev, Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment said.
The officials said that there was a huge demand in the labor market through 26 "Ishga Merhamat" mono-centres, 53 vocational training centers, 539 vocational centres, and neighbourhood training centres operating throughout the republic.
The Unemployed strata are trained in more than 70 professions which led to a decline of the rate by 8.9%. The poverty rate decreased from 17% to 14.1%. It is planned to reduce the level of poverty in Uzbekistan to 12%.
