January 31. The Judge of the Bukhara regional court announced the verdict on the criminal case against 22 defendants accused of the Nukus unrest on 1-2 July 2022. The press service of the Supreme Court reports.
The notorious journalist Lolagul Kallikhanova who was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment was released from the courtroom with 6 months and 24 days incarceration period deduction and 7 years, 5 months and 6 days of suspension. She will have a probation period of 3 years.
Dauletmurat Tajimuratov, the leader of the riots received 16 years in prison. He will spend the first 2 years in general prison, and the rest in an administrative maximum (ADX) prison.
Here is the ruling of the other suspects:
- Salamat Kalilayev is sentenced to 3 years in prison and released with a probationary period of 3 years;
- Berdakh Genjebayev, is sentenced to 5 years and will serve 4 years, 10 months and 11 days. The preventive measure of house arrest is cancelled.
- Nurlan Sultamuratov is jailed 3 years in prison;
- Polat Nurniyazov is found guilty and stays behind bars for 4 years;
- Kaharman Seytimov has got 5 years;
- Saipnazar Kalimov and Arislan Temirkhanov each are sentenced to 6 years;
- Polat Shamshetov is sentenced to 6 years with no right to work in official positions and in the internal affairs system for 3 years;
- Amirbek Adilbekov will spend 7 years in prison;
- Bakhtiyar Kadirbergenov will be behind the bars for 7 years;
- Seydabulla Medetov and Nurlan Nayipov pleaded guilty to 7 years in prison each;
- Razbek Bekmuratov has got 8 years;
- Sultanbek Kaipov is found guilty and sentenced to 8 years;
- Dao'letmurat Djiyemuratov receives 8 years;
- Bayram Seytniyazov makes it 8 years;
- Allabay Toqimbetov is sentenced to 8 years and 6 months in prison.
- Azamat Nuratdinov will serve 4 years 5 months 17 days to serve, minus 6 months and 13 days of initial imprisonment under Article 62;
- Ahmet Smetullayev will serve 4 years 5 months 8 days in jail;
- Azamat Turdanov will be incarcerated for 4 years, and 5 months;
- 6.5 billion soums of damage will be taken from Dauletmurat Tajimuratov, and the seized assets belonging to the convicts were determined to compensate for the rest of the damages.
