Uzbekistan has recently delivered the first batch of digitalized cargo to Azerbaijan; initially, the goods, which had room for four containers, were transported to Tashkent International Airport by truck and from there to Baku by airplane.
In particular, the trade between the two Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries was carried out through the new electronic system of 'international road transport' with the international designation eTIR. Furthermore, the European Economic Commission (ECC) has announced that 'the digital era has begun in international cargo transportation.'
Advancement of the transport sector serves as a key factor in strengthening ties between Central Asia and the Caucasus. Considering this, TIR, the single transit permit, became a practical implementation of this idea.
