The Tashkent Inter-District Economic Court granted the lawsuit to cancel the license of Quramax Mediсal Company to conduct pharmaceutical activities in Uzbekistan, issued by the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry on December 10, 2019, the press service of the Supreme Court has reported. The court also upheld the requirement to remove and destroy unusable medicines.
The Supreme Court noted that the parties could appeal the declared decision, otherwise, it would enter into force 10 days after its adoption.
In addition, the court issued a private ruling on the violation of the legal requirements regarding the actions or omissions of the authorized body and officials in the economic case and its transmission to the Prosecutor’s Office of Tashkent. This determination may also be appealed.
The Indian authorities have suspended the pharmacological license of Marion Biotech, media reports.
The company is currently under investigation for its Doc-1 Max cough syrup. An Uttar Pradesh state official said the stoppage order was issued on January 10 when the company failed to provide documentation for the drug.
To date, at least 20 deaths have been officially confirmed as a result of the use of this syrup.
The newly appointed Minister of Health, Amrillo Inoyatov, in his letter to pharmacies in early January, instructed to suspend the sale of all medicines imported by Quramax in 2022.
