According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the training centers for Olympic and Paralympic sports will be set up in Uzbekistan soon. This was reported by the information and legal portal Norma.
The centers are directed to the training of highly qualified specialists and sports reserves for the national Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, the number of students in the Republican center will be 600, and the number of students in the regional centres will reach 450.
The budget funds that will become free as a result of reducing the number of students and their staff in the centers will be directed to further improve the supply of food to the athletes of these centers.
Based on the recommendation of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, up to 10% additional places are set for student-athletes with physical disabilities and disabilities to the total number of student-athletes in Olympic and Paralympic colleges and centers.
