The II CIS Games will be held in the Republic of Belarus on August 4-14, 2023.
CIS member states approved the rules of the competition at the meeting of the working group on the preparation and holding of the Commonwealth Games in December.
According to the Executive Committee, the II CIS Games are scheduled to be held from August 4-14, 2023 and be held in 11 cities of Belarus in 21 different sports disciplines.
More than 3,000 participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are scheduled to participate in the competitions. The Committee has been considering inviting athletes from Mongolia, China, Cuba, Iran, Oman, and Saudi Arabia too.
The 1st CIS Games were held on September 4-11, 2021 in Kazan, Russia where more than 1,000 sportsmen from the national teams of 9 CIS countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan competed for 181 medals in 16 sports disciplines.
