Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health has suggested that 18 child casualties in the Samarkand region could relate to a side effect of DOK-1MAX syrup. Preliminary laboratory studies report that the abovementioned syrup series contain ethylene glycol.
According to the Ministry of Health, ethylene glycol is toxic, and about 1-2 ml/kg 95% concentrated solution can cause severe changes in the patient’s health condition, such as vomiting, fainting, seizures, cardiovascular problems, and acute renal failure.
