The Termez International Airport reopened after 55-days long reconstruction works, receiving the flight on Monday (December 26), the Uzbekistan Airports informs.
The new airfield complex project's estimated at 550bn UZS or $5mn. To date, work has been done for 377bn UZS, or US$ 3.5mn. The three aircraft stands and a second taxiway are set to be completed by April 2023.
A concrete runway has been laid in Termez to fit the hot climate of the Surkhandarya province. Until today, concrete strips have been built only at Navoi and Termez airports.
During the reconstruction period, flights were operating in other airports across Uzbekistan. The terminal was reconstructed and commissioned last year.
