Turkmen passengers prefer returning home from Russia through Uzbekistan due to the high cost of tickets. This was reported by Turkmennews.
Russian company S7 flies from Moscow to Turkmenbashi twice a week. Tickets cost $310-470, and this is the only direct flight available. However, the central ticket office of the airline in Ashgabat said that it does not sell tickets from Russia to Turkmenistan.
The airline's office at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow reported that the price of a one-way ticket for January will be approximately $466.
That’s why the Turkmen passengers now choose to fly to Urganch, Uzbekistan from Moscow for $209 (December 2022), and $131 in January 2023. And a plane ticket for February can be booked even for $104. The price of tickets to Bukhara is approximately $139-295.
"It is no wonder that Turkmen nationals prefer flying home through Uzbekistan," the report says.
