President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on Saturday (December 24), held a phone call with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who, on the same day, received birthday greetings from world leaders, including President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
‘It was noted with deep satisfaction that, thanks to regular and fruitful dialogue at the highest level, Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation are developing dynamically in all directions', the message of the press service reads.
Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan trade turnover has surged two-fold in 2022, the message says. In addition, the two countries continue implementing joint projects in the energy, automobile, and textile industries. Besides, a mutual investment fund is being established to support promising cooperative projects.
The two presidents stressed the importance of making a portfolio of direct trade contracts and long-term investment agreements.
Uzbekistan's delegation is currently in Baku, Azerbaijan, to agree on measures to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects.
