As we have earlier reported, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Monday (December 12) received Sándor Csányi, Chairman of the Board of the OTP Bank headquartered in Hungary. The meeting discussed measures to promote joint cooperative projects under the agreements reached during regular summits, the press service of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reports.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sándor Csányi on the successful completion of the transaction on the acquisition of the state share of Ipoteka Bank and the entry of the leading European banking and financial institution into the market of Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was given to attracting direct investment from Hungary and other European Union countries to the implementation of investment projects in various sectors of the Uzbek economy, including industry, agriculture, horticulture, poultry production, production of food and textiles, pharmaceuticals, and others.
In addition, the importance of close cooperation in the field of higher education and professional training, as well as improving the quality of banking services provided to the population, was noted. It was also agreed to adopt a road map on priority measures to support and promote joint projects and programs.
Besides, the meeting held a signing ceremony of the Agreement on the acquisition of the state share of Ipoteka Bank by a Hungarian bank.
