From January to October this year, 25 law enforcement officers passed away; nine of the officers died in traffic accidents, and sixteen passed away in the line of their official duties, a spokesman of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on Thursday (December 1).
The government official stressed that many officers (284 employees in total) had to leave their posts for health grounds and severe injuries caused by accidences. More than 6,000 staff members were disciplined for various reasons during the reported period.
