Uzbekistan on Monday (November 28) received 142,740 doses of the Pfizer vaccine through the COVAX mechanism, the press service of the republic’s Ministry of Health reports.
Another batch of 3mn doses is expected to arrive in December this year, UNIFEC clarifies. To date, a total of 72.5mn doses of vaccine have been used in the country, of which 6.7mn doses are Pfizer.
The previous delivery of Pfizer vaccines to Uzbekistan in 2mn doses took place in July; the Central Asian country received the US-manufactured supply through the COVAX facility.
