Following Uzbekistan's current legislation, it is forbidden to export jewelry worth more than $5,000. However, from December 2022, this limit will be raised to $10,000.
Besides, December will mark the introduction of additional changes:
- all banks and the Export Promotion Agency would be accepted as guarantors for deferred payments for gold and silver;
- individual jewelers would be able to obtain surety;
- the licensing requirement for the import or export of jewelry for processing gold, silver, or any other jewelry would be abolished;
- required jewelry would be exempt from customs duties.
