World’s, Asian, and Uzbekistan’s multiple bodybuilding champion, 44-year-old Alena Nuraeva, has passed away, the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Uzbekistan reports.
'We regret to announce the death of our outstanding athlete Alena Nuraeva, a multiple champion of the republic, Asia, and the world. You courageously fought this disease - leukemia, but, alas, the disease turned out to be stronger ... We will all remember you as such a wonderful personality and fantastic athlete! We express our sincere condolences to all family and friends!', the message reads.
In her lifetime, the sportswoman achieved nine gold and four silver medals at the republican and international competitions.
