On November 1, Vladimir Norov received his German colleague, Annalena Berbok, to discuss an expansion of trade and economic cooperation, including the organization of the supply of a wide range of high-quality and competitive Uzbek products to the German market.
The ministers agreed on the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of human rights protection by establishing the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan and the German Institute for Human Rights. Vladimir Norov invited German experts to the global forum on human rights education, which is slated to be held in Tashkent on December 5-6.
The heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries discussed special aspects of cooperation in the field of environmental protection, in particular, within the framework of the nationwide program "Green Space" and the "Green Central Asia" initiative of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Annalena Berbok highly appreciated Uzbekistan's efforts to combat the consequences of the Aral Sea crisis and expressed readiness to study the possibilities of implementing environmental and social projects in the Aral Bay region.
