The republic’s national carrier Uzbekistan Airways has carried out its first direct flight to Phu Quoc Island in the southern part of Vietnam.
The airline’s plane landed at Phu Quoc International Airport on Tuesday morning bringing 172 Uzbek tourists who will stay on the island for the next nine days.
Until March, the national airline plans to operate 18 flights to Phu Quoc. The tourism department of the Kiên Giang province said in a statement that depending on demand, the number of flights would grow.
